About the Bromley Area Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma Support Group

The Bromley Area Leukaemia Support Group was founded in 1989 to provide support and information to patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma living in the Bromley, Kent area.

The group has a committee made up of patients, relatives and nurses and is fully supported by the Consultant Haematologists.

The aim of the group is to provide both financial and emotional support to patients in the Bromley area who feel they need assistance during their illness.

The group raises its money through fundraising events held throughout the year and donations from patients and relatives. All money received goes directly to patient care.

So how can we help?

  • If you would like to speak to someone with a personal experience of your diagnosis then we will endeavour to put you in contact with someone who has had a similar experience.

  • We contribute towards the cost of the Complimentary Therapy service which provides an invaluable service to an increasing number of patients.

  • We provide assistance with travel costs for patients attending hospital appointments either locally or at other hospitals.

  • We can provide assistance with providing items of equipment or carers required for patients at home to make life easier or more comfortable.

  • We have provided equipment and furniture for the Chartwell Treatment Suite and Chartwell Bedrooms at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington, Kent to make patients more comfortable.

  • We will consider any request for funding if you find yourself in difficulty and all cases are looked at on an individual basis.

The group is there to help you so if you need any assistance then please contact us to see what we can do for you.
